ROB is concerned about protecting the privacy of everyone who seeks to access the website at

http://www.rob-brussels.be/

ROB also wishes to inform you:
- about the type of information collected by ROB as a result of you accessing our website,
- about the way in which ROB uses and protects this data.

However, if you do not wish your personal details and information about you to be kept by ROB as a result of accessing our website, we will tell you what you need to do and also enable you to amend any information that you may already have communicated to us. Generally speaking, it is possible for you to access information relating to you, as well as update that information and correct any errors it may contain.

Nothing will be done without your consent
When you connect to the ROB website, you accept the terms and conditions contained in this charter and, by giving us personal information about yourself, you authorise us to use that information in accordance with this charter. If you do not agree with the principles it contains and represents, you should leave our website forthwith. ROB does not in any wish to keep personal details about you without your prior consent.

Content and use of personal information
The term “Personal Information” is understood to mean any information that makes it possible for a person to be identified. This information usually takes the form of a name, an address, a telephone number, a loyalty card number or an electronic e-mail address. For payment cards, please refer to the paragraph on Security of your personal payment information, below.
Also, when you visit our website, you may be asked to provide us with Personal Information. This information may be collected by ROB and re-used subsequently, for example to let you know about the launch of a competition or other promotional offers reserved for the people who visit ROB online.

Security of your personal payment information
ROB undertakes in particular to guarantee the security of your personal payment information. ROB and its trusted online payment partner OGONE (http://www.ogone.com) use a range of security technologies and procedures to help you to safeguard your personal information against any unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
As a result, the ROB website does not retain details of your payment card number, nor the history of any sales made at the ROB site. These are additional protective measures decided on by ROB. This means that you will be required to enter this information each time you buy online from us.
Access to personal information about our customers is restricted to those of our staff members who need to have knowledge of such information to carry out their work. These staff members have been trained to comply with strict confidentiality procedures.
ROB takes every reasonable measure to avoid your personal details from being consulted by third parties other than those acting in the name of and/or on behalf of ROB (such as OGONE). These third parties have agreed to handle your personal details with all of the discretion necessary and in total security.
When we transmit highly confidential information, such as passwords or credit card numbers over the Internet, we protect that information by using security techniques based on international standards.

Use of cookies
The ROB website uses cookies that enable you to connect with ROB services and to personalise your activities online. A cookie is a small text file placed on your hard disk by a webpage server. Cookies contain information that can then be read by a web server from the domain name that transmitted the cookie to you in the first place. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or infect your computer with viruses.
ROB uses cookies to store your preferences and other information on your computer so that you do not constantly have to keep entering the same information. Cookies also display your personalised content whenever you visit the ROB website on future occasions.
When you connect to our website, ROB records your unique identification number and the time of the connection in an encrypted cookie on your hard disk. This cookie enables you to move from one page to another at the website, without you having to connect again on each page. ROB also uses cookies to facilitate connection. For example, your e-mail address may be stored in a cookie that stays on your computer after you have logged off. This cookie makes it possible to pre-inform your e-mail address so that you only have to enter your password next time you log on. If you are using a public computer or if you do not wanted this information to be stored, you can select the appropriate option box on the log on page and this cookie will no longer be used.
You have the option of accepting or refusing cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify the settings for your browser, if you want. If you decide to refuse cookies, you may find you are not able to connect to or use other interactive functions at the website or for ROB services that rely on the use of cookies.

How does ROB use the information that relates to you?
Any information relating to you that we collect when you log on to the ROB website will only be used by ROB to improve our website and to provide you with services that are tailored more and more closely to your needs. You should however be aware that we will only contact you to let you know about the good deals we have to offer if you have your permission: if you do not wish to be contacted in the future, follow the instructions shown below in the section on How to contact us.

Preventing “phishing”
The practice of phishing is a technique used by fraudsters to obtain personal information with the intention of committing a fraudulent act by obtaining your identity without your permission or knowledge.
What fraudsters do is make the victim believe that he or she is dealing with a trusted third party by posing as that third party (e-commerce site, bank, government department, etc.) using false (but often very convincing) websites or e-mails to extract personal information from the victim (password, credit card number, etc.) and then using that information for their own gain.
ROB undertakes NEVER to ask you for personal details by e-mail or over the phone. So be alert if you receive any form of contact by e-mail or phone asking you to divulge certain items of personal information, even if the party contacting you presents themselves as a person working for ROB.
ROB will only ask you for sensitive personal details (such as your credit card number) when you place an order for items – and then only at its secure payment website. This site is managed in conjunction with our trusted payment partner OGONE (http://www.ogone.com) and features every kind of security and confidentiality measure required to enter and record the personal details required to fulfil the order and to pay for it online.

Viruses, malware or malicious codes
ROB undertakes not to expose its customers to viruses and other malware or malicious codes when they visit the ROB website.
Our website is protected by antivirus software and our computers are checked regularly for the presence of viruses. The antivirus program is never switched off and is updated and upgraded on a frequent basis.

The fight against unwanted e-mails or “spam”
ROB undertakes never to pass your e-mail address on to third parties in a different context of online purchasing, except where we have your express permission to do so. This is to avoid your address from being used outside your control and outside ROB’s control to send you unsolicited e-mails or “spam”.
